The Allston & Brighton APAC was created in 1968, as a part to the national War on Poverty. The Allston & Brighton APAC mission is to combat poverty by promoting self-help for low-income people and neighborhoods.
Today our program plans with and assists Allston and Brighton low-income families and individuals by implementing this philosophy of self-help through a process that provides innovative, practical, and timely programs and services which emphasize education, and develop problem-solving skills.
The Allston & Brighton APAC program is a source for providing a comprehensive, family intervention program to low-income children (3-5 years of age) and their families. Services to children include education, health, special education, dental, mental health, social and nutrition services through our Child Care and extended day programs. Parents learn alongside their children, have access to special programs such as literacy education, parenting education, emergency food pantry, fuel assistance, free tax preparation and health promotion.
